African Programme on Rethinking Development Economics Virtual Conference: Industrial Development in Africa

APORDE will be holding its second virtual conference on Tuesday 18 March 2025 with a theme of Industrial Development in Africa. The conference is for the alumni from the APORDE and IPPM programmes to talk about their work and areas of research. We are inviting alumni to submit abstracts, presentations or papers for the conference.

The aim of the conference is to share research by APORDE and IPPM alumni, insights gained in implementing industrial policy or industrial development programmes, and work outcomes that have made an impact towards economic development in your country.

The conference will take place in virtual format to accommodate the alumni network from across Africa and the world. A total of nine papers pers can be presented with an opening and closing panel discussion.

Call for Papers

Authors are invited to submit an abstract of their paper or presentation of up to 500 words. To be considered, abstracts should be submitted by Friday 31 January 2025. Authors will be notified of the decision by Friday 14 February 2025. Abstract submissions should include full contact details of the authors.

All alumni are invited to attend the conference. An invitation and agenda will be sent out in February 2025.
